Trying to build my 1st application in PB.Net. Placing a command button
on a window gives error:

Error 1 Unknown build error, 'Method 'get_Command' in type
'System.Windows.Controls.Button' from assembly 'PresentationFramework,
Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' does
not have an implementation.

Why can I not place a commandbutton on the window?

Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric;

Can you tell us ...

1) What version of O/S windows are you using?
2) What version of PB.net (and build number)?
3) Do you have any .Net SDK's installed - if so what version(s)?
4) Do you have any .Net run-times installed - if so what version(s)?
5) Do you have any Visual Studio products installed - if so, what
version(s)?

1) Windows 7
2) PB.net 12.5.1 build 4541
3) <program files>\Microsoft.Net\SDK v2.0
4) HKey_local_machine\software\microsoft\Net Framework SetUp\NDP CDF,
v2.0.50727, v3.0, v3.5, v4, v4.0
5) Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express

Our program works correct in PB12.5.Net except when we replace the
statis text with the commandButton.

Thanks

Hmmm ... sounds like such a simple update! :-(

1) Is that W7 32 or 64 bit?

2) PB 12.5.x is .Net 4.0 based. So make sure that if the .Net run-times
are in your system path that the v4.0 one is first.

The only other thing I see is that you are on an EBF build not the
official MR (which is build 4015). EBF's can introduce regression
problems and other anomalies as they are not as fully system tested as a
maintenance release. By chance - would you have another development PC
on PB 12.5.1 b4015 that you could try this task on?

I don't have a other pc where pb is installed.

When I look at the properties under common there is a dropdown
"Command". When I click on the drop down I see approximately 40 times
System.Windows.Input.RoutedUICommand.

Is this correct?

WOW ..that does not sound right at all - and, nothing that I see after
swapping out an ST object for a CB.

My suggestion now would be to totally uninstall PB.Net, reboot and then
install PB 12.5.0 again plus the 12.5.1 MR and see what happens.

The problem is the .Net 4.5 framework. See this thread in the PowerBuilder
Developers Form in the SAP Community Network:

FYI: Eric has already indicated that he does not have the .net 4.5

He indicated "4.0.5". That's a typo. It's 4.5. There is no .Net
Framework 4.0.5. It's also what causes this error.

Yes, if he truly meant to say 4.5 - that would do it! :-)

1043
v1.0.3705
v1.1.4322
v2.0.50727
V3.0
v3.5
v4.0.3.0319

Thats it. So I don't think v4.5 is installed

Thanks
Eric

.Net 4.5 is an "in place update" to .Net 4.0. You won't find a seperate
folder for it. There are a number of web sites that tell you how you can
check to see if it is installs. Some don't seems to work on machines I
know have the update on them. Two methods I have been able to indicate it
correctly are:

1. Go to "Uninstall Programs" in the Control Panel and look for it.
2. Open the following location in the Registry Editor and see what appears
there:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client

Note that "Net Framework Setup" doesn't start with a period. It's down in
the N's. And it's the v4 key, not the v4.0 key.

One thing that I noticed is that Microsoft Visual c# express is not
working anymore. But, I don't plan to use it now that PB .Net works
correctly.

If someone found a other solution I would appreciate if he could post it
here.

Thanks
Eric

Thanks Bruce. You solved my problem.

The Command and Picture buttons work fine now.
However, I will probably get problems with what I did on my machine or
maybe not.

I noticed that there was a change in the assembly.txt

When there is
c:\program files\reference
assemblies\microsoft\framework\.netframework\v4.0\presentationcore.dll
its working

But sometime, after a full build, it is changed to
c:\windows\microsoft.net\assembly\gac_32\presentationcore\v4.0_4.0.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\presentationcore.dll
and then it failed.

In the last folder was a 4.0 map and a 4.5 map. So, i believed you when
you said that the 4.5 is installed in the 4.0 map. So I renamed my 4.0
map to 4.<whatever> and my 4.5 map to 4.0.

Some questions when I opened the solutions in PB.Net, but that is
automatically solved.

Thanks for your help

Not something I would have recommened. On my regular machine I simply
uninstalled 4.5 and then reinstalled 4.0 (the uninstall of 4.5 leaves the
4.0 configuration a bit messed up). I've got a virtual machine that still
has 4.5 on it so I can do some seperate testing in that environment.
